An engagement shoot is our gift to every couple that books with us, with a free 10x8 print of your choice as a souvenir. If you would like to buy any other prints, you can do so with a 10% discount off our normal prices. This shoot gives the 4 of us the opportunity to get to know each other, and you will get used to being in front of the camera - and seeing us behind it!
We always ensure that we are completely familiar with your wedding and reception venues. Often, we will hold the engagement shoot at your reception venue, but if this is not possible, we will go there in advance to get to know it. We always speak to your celebrant in advance, to understand any venue rules - e.g. no flash photography at certain points. We will ask you for your wedding itinerary, the groups you want us to photograph, the names of the bridal party and key guests, and details of any aspect of your day that you want photographed. We will then produce a photographic schedule for your approval.
Both of us photograph each wedding. This works brilliantly, because you get the best possible coverage - we are literally in 2 places at one time! Marie meets the bride for those all-important preparation shots. This includes capturing all the unique details - the wedding dress's embroidery, shoes, tiara and veil - not forgetting the bridesmaids and their preparations! Meanwhile, Paul meets the groom, for his pre-wedding preparations, and to photograph details like the wedding rings and cufflinks.
Paul will leave for the wedding venue at the same time as the groom, to capture some portraits of the groom, the wedding location scene and arrivals - including, of course, the bride's arrival. Marie will arrive hot on the bride's heels, and Marie and Paul will photograph the wedding from different perspectives. Immediately after the wedding, we will take reportage shots of you and your guests, to record the warmth, love and excitement of those first precious moments after the service.
What happens next depends on you! Typically we will take some group shots at the wedding and reception venues. We also like to whisk the bride and groom away for some fashion and glamour-style images for 15 minutes or so during the drinks reception. These images capture forever how beautiful you will feel on your wedding day. We will spend the rest of the day and evening with you, taking informal shots of you and your guests, to tell the story of the best day of your lives!
If you like, and at no extra charge, we will set up what we call The Booth Wedding Photo Booth. This is a mini-studio, which we will set up at your venue, so that your guests can have their photo taken. They can buy the prints if they like, and whether they do or not, you will get all of the images on your wedding DVD!
We will be ready to show you your photographs 2 weeks after your wedding. Unlike most photographers, we believe that your photographs are yours - not ours. You pay us once - to take your photographs - and that price includes all of your photos on a DVD that you can print from. At no additional charge, we will host a viewing party for you and up to 10 guests, at our studio. This is such a fun event, and it's something to really look forward to after your honeymoon - some couples and their guests treat it as a film premiere, and really dress up - and why not? We will give you a proof book and DVD to take home, and we will ask you to select your favourite image, which we will use for your free thank you cards. To save you the trouble of printing images for friends, or of collating lists for ordering from us, your guests can order prints online. The details will be printed in your thank you cards, so you won't even have to circulate them!
